Plano Senior Open House - September 8, 2008
Nowadays, parents and students lead very busy lives such that at times we forget to simply stop and take
notice of what we are doing and, more importantly, what our children are doing. Open House
helps serve notice to parents that it is important for them to notice what their students are doing while
providing students a chance to show off to their parents, through their teachers, what they are doing. The Plano
Senior High School Open House is a must see event. With an energy-filled evening, Plano Senior fosters a
positive school and home partnership through experiences both educational and entertaining. We hope you can
join in on the fun and experience a little of what Plano Senior is all about.
Jasper and Vines High School Open House - September 9. 2008
Offering a slice of high school life, the Jasper and Vines Open Houses are a point of pride for it communities.
This event offers a chance for parents to get the inside track on what the academic year holds for their students.
Questions are answered, ideas are shared, and contributions are made towards a student's success. Getting a chance
to see where their students' classes are located helps parents feel more in tune with what the daily schedule entails.
In addition, this event helps ease any anxiety parents may have in the transition from middle school to high school.
Middle School Open House - September 11, 2008
Ready to provide answers, ideas, and information which will help lead to a successful school year, the
middle school open house offers a unique look at the incredibly educational infrastructure found in PISD.
Some things to expect while touring the schools are: parents following their student's daily schedule, visiting
their student's lockers as well as enjoying presentations by the PTA and/or other organizations. Always a step in
the right direction, make sure to visit your middle school!

8th Graders Join the Plano Band - October 3, 2008
Our 8th grade band members from Haggard, Rice, Schimelpfenig, and Wilson join the Plano Band at the
Plano vs. Wylie Football Game. An experience unlike no other, bear witness as the excitement of the Plano
Band grows with the help of our future. Make sure to bring a camera as every moment will be priceless!
Plano Band performs at Mesquite Band Contest - October 4, 2008
With its purpose of giving valuable critique to marching bands from qualified judges, the Mesquite Marching Band Contest plays
host to bands in all UIL classifications. Held at Mesquite Memorial Stadium, the contest site serves as a precursor to the UIL

Jasper and Vines Bands perform at Plano East Band Contest - October 4, 2008
The Plano East Senior High band booster club sponsors an annual invitational marching contest each year. The contest is
traditionally held on a Saturday in mid-October, beginning at mid-day and extending until approximately 9:00 pm. Over thirty
outstanding bands from across the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, as well as occasional bands from outside the area, participate
in this event. Judges invited from across the country name winners from within each classification, as well as the overall

The UIL sanctioned marching band contest serves as accreditation with its ratings of regional and area high school marching
band programs. Contest will be held at Clark Stadium in Plano, Texas
